357. REMARD (Charles). La Chézonomie ou l'art de ch... Didactic poem in four songs. Scoropolis, and Paris, Baillieu, 1873. In-8, paperback, 161 p. ill. with 4 plates, 1 illustrated advertising leaflet for the book Le nouveau Merdiana. New edition with four etchings by J. Chauvet. This reprint, the first illustrated edition, was certainly printed in small numbers, as it is much rarer than the first, anonymous edition of 1806. According to Barbier, Charles Rémard was curator at the Château de Fontainebleau library. And according to Quérard, the author's notes are more interesting than the poem. Partly split at spine, otherwise a good copy complete with its 4 scatological plates. (Barbier, I, 583; Quérard, I, 722)
