359. [Roman de la luxure (Le)]. Paris-London, 1903-1904. 6 paperback volumes, printed on Arches laid paper without their printed covers, which have been replaced by a cardboard blank. Complete set of its six volumes: Madame Benson, Miss Aline, Miss Frankland, The Mysteries of the Rectory, The Loving Widow, Continental Orgies. This work is translated from the English work The Romance of lust, famous in the underground bookshop. The French translation was republished several times in the early 20th century, always under the same date of 1903-1904. Both Perceau and Pia confess to the impossibility of giving the order of these first impressions. For Dutel, the edition on laid paper, with the typographic ornaments used by the printer Renaudie, was printed for the publisher Duringe, and is the 1903-1904 edition. These are our copies.
